Some funding agencies complete the application process with an oral interview. In this workshop, you will learn what to focus on in your presentation, how to target both experts and non-experts in the audience, what questions to expect, and how to respond to tricky questions. This workshop complements the general grant-writing workshop.

  • Work in a small group of 8-10.
  • Concrete solutions to a pool of frequent questions
  • Strategies for responding to conflict situations and difficult questions.
  • Practice with mock interviews and group feedback.

In the workshop, each participant will present their project, respond to questions, and obtain feedback on their performance from the group. We will focus both on strategies for conveying the vision for the grant, and on presentation skills, including body language, eye contact, voice control, and reactions in conflict situations.

One day, 9:30-17:00. We start with four sessions of 50 min each of learning time and discussion, followed by half-hour ‘mock interview’ sessions.
